Lawrence Avenue Apartment re-cladding
After 50 years, the masonry cladding of this 24-unit apartment building was failing. Workshop Architecture led a detailed investigation of the building envelope to determine the extent of damage and repair required. It was established the facing brick would have to be demolished throughout the entire building. We presented the client with a number of design options for a new cladding system, balcony rails and roof. We also assisted the owners in obtaining a significant “Rental Apartment Renovation and Repair Funding” grant from the City of Toronto towards the cost of this project.
