Paris Central Elementary School addition
Client: GRAND ERIE DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

For a one-classroom addition to an elementary school in Paris, Ontario, pale grey split-face block cladding was provided on the street-side to match the existing school, but the double-height volume facing the courtyard playspace beyond was clad in brick. Inside the skewed geometry of the site creates an array of volumes and angles, with the mostly white interior punctuated by robinís egg blue window surrounds and a bright corner with tile in vibrant orange and millwork in lemon-yellow and light grey. LED strip lighting is hung from the exposed ceiling and tackboards line the room for a rotating display of studentsí work.
