Hamilton Convention Centre renovation master plan
Client: City of Hamilton

The Hamilton Convention Centre wished to carry out renovation work to “refresh” their existing space and make it more attractive to potential customers. They had a proposed construction budget and a series of necessary upgrades that exceeded the current funds available. We suggested re-framing the project brief to first carry out a Design Concept Study to quantify and prioritize proposed upgrades for the next few years, rather than proceed directly to production of tender documents for the current budget available.

We carried out a full audit of the existing Convention Centre and suggested strategic upgrades capable of achieving the greatest value/return for investment. These upgrades, combined with wider rebranding efforts, were proposed over a three-year horizon and timed to coordinate with proposed upgrades being carried out under separate funding streams – for example, lighting replacement.
